Childhood Immunisations and Vaccinations

Overview:

• Attendees to learn the basic principles of safe immunisation practice and enable practitioner to update their knowledge independently.

Participants will gain knowledge on:

• The legal role of nurses in immunisation. 
• The role of immunisation to prevent infectious diseases. 
• Types of immunisation. 
• The current childhood immunisation schedule. 
• How to safely administer. 
• Safe storage, administration of vaccines and its documentation. 
• Special risk groups for inclusion and exclusion from immunisation. 
• Where to find further help and information. 
• The recognition and emergency management of anaphylaxis. 
• Finding reliable information of immunisation from the internet.
