  • About Me

My name is Meg, I work within the Band 2-4 team within the FCNE. I have always had an interest in supporting the learning and development of others starting early on in my nursing career as a Staff Nurse and then stepping into the CSF role on Lighthouse Ward.

My role within the Band 2-4 Team is to deliver education to HCSWs of which they will be able to apply and draw upon to support them in clinical practice. Teaching is predominantly classroom based across various programmes such as Induction; HCSW Development Programme and Hot Topic Study Days - content based upon the learning requests and feedback of HCSWs. Each combine theory and practical elements of practice with in HCSW role.  Whilst enhancing knowledge, understanding and application of clinical skills is important, it is extremely important to me that we never loose sight of the holistic care needs of the patients/families within our care. I do my best to emphasise and role model these elements within my teaching too.  I get a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction from teaching. I love helping learners see their potential and capabilities unravel in-front of them as their confidence, skill set and understanding improves. I value and welcome the input of HCSWs as I believe it is vital to hear their voice and create and approachable, safe learning environment for all.

In my free time I love to be outdoors exploring, being by the sea and keeping active.
