  • Overview

    Practitioners will consolidate their knowledge of:

    • Anatomy and physiology relating to pain and perception
    • Their knowledge of the interventions required to care safely for a child and young person using both pharmacological and non-pharmacologic modalities, utilising current research/evidence to underpin practice.

    The principles of holistic, family centred care will run throughout the module.

    Target Audience:

    Nursing staff working with children in both paediatric and adult settings.

    Assessment:

    • Compulsory Assessment - none.
    • Optional assessment - course designed so that students can obtain credits through their chosen university via an APEL route.
